This Week:
National Transportation Week -- May 12-18. Did you know that in Indiana it is illegal to ride public transportation for at least 30 minutes after eating garlic.
Running & Fitness Week -- May 12-18.
National Tourism Week -- May 12-18. The Arlington Convention & Visitors Bureau offers these tips for maintaining your sense of humor on a family road trip:
- Feng shui the car.
- Hold fake auditions for "American Idol" at all truck stops.
- Create a psychological profile of the driver next to you. Resist the urge to share it with him via hand gestures.
- Who has it better, Paris or Nicky? Discuss.
- Invest in foreign language tapes and learn to say, "Don't make me stop this car!" in 12 languages.
- Hold conversations by only quoting movie lines, song titles and lyrics, banning "Oops, I did it again" (unless you wish to refer to #10).
- Implement the rule, "only one in-law per vacation". Take it one step further and ban in-laws altogether.
- Play Chinese Fire Drill every time you hit standstill traffic.
- Try going the entire car ride without using your children's middle names.
- Beano, Gas X, Ziploc bags and duct tape are your best friends. Really.
National Police Week -- The following quotes were taken from actual police car videos around the country:
·"Relax. The handcuffs are tight because they're new. They'll stretch out after you wear them a while."
·"Take your hands off the car and I'll make your birth certificate a worthless document."
·"If you run, you'll only go to jail tired."
·"Can you run faster than 1,200 feet per second? In case you didn't know, that is the average speed of a 9mm bullet fired from my gun."
·"Warning? You want a warning? Okay, I'm warning you not to do that again or I'll give you another ticket."
·"The answer to this last question will determine whether you are drunk or not. Was Mickey Mouse a cat or dog?"
·"Just how big were those two beers?"
·"Yeah, we have a quota. Two more tickets and my wife gets a toaster oven."
·"No sir, we don't have quotas anymore. We used to have quotas but now we're allowed to write as many tickets as we want."
·"You didn't think we give pretty women tickets? You're right, we don't. Now sign here."

I can’t tell you what is real and unreal, as I have not done any studies of my own, but I find it all very interesting and will glue myself to the couch when those kinds of show are on television.

Websites To Pass Some Time:
www.hotchickswithdouchebags.com (Probably Not Safe For Work)
www.fark.com
youtube.com/watch?v=1gXcTUF8zCI - Click this link to watch a time-lapsed video of a man stuck in an elevator for 41 hours. The event actually was over a decade ago, but has become a highly viewed video as of recently.
Weddingbetting.com - Stumbled across this site. You can vote on Happy Couples pictures on how long their marriage will last. It's fun to see if your thoughts match others who have voted. I may submit a photo of my wife and I just to see how others will vote.
PeoplesCourtRaw.com - This site is great to pass some time. You can view arguments that people are having and help them by voting on who is right. You are kind of like the jury.
