A Wisconsin man who somehow got locked inside a convenience store beer cooler overnight passed the time by helping himself to some brews and was arrested for it.
Jeremy Van Ert told police he was shopping at the Kwik Trip store in Marshfield and got trapped in the cooler when employees locked up for the night. A customer was the first discover him inside the cooler the next morning and alerted a store employee, who unlocked the door and let him out. Van Ert quickly ran out of the store and fled.
The manager said while Van Ert was locked in the cooler, he helped himself to an 18-ounce beer and three cans of Four Loko. He also knocked over some boxes and destroyed three cans of beer. Police were able to track him down and arrested him for theft. He was also in violation of his probation from an unrelated case which prohibited him from drinking alcohol.
