A Washington man proved that you can fail a breath test even with the freshest breath after he was nabbed behind the wheel, huffing a large can of air freshener.
The man, whose name was not released, was initially detained after inching forward and hitting a police cruiser at Seattle’s airport. While there was no damage to either vehicle, since the guy was clocked at just three miles per hour, officers noted that he looked a bit addled in part because of a white discharge coming from his eyes.
While frisking him for weapons, a deputy found the can of Glade in his pants pocket, and coaxed him into admitting he’d huffed “a lot” of the stuff that day. According to the police report, the suspect was taken to jail, where he removed his pants and began kicking the door, then made some obscene offers to the officers on duty.
