Police in Florida say a man they arrested for robbing a bank knew exactly what he was doing, but only because he’d Googled instructions on how to rob a bank first.
Cops say 26 year old William Johnson walked into a bank and handed a note to the teller that read, “Give me money, no bait, I have a gun.” He then fled with about $2000. Police posted surveillance photos of Johnson from the bank and received multiple calls from people identifying him as the robber. Even Johnson’s own mother recognized him from the photos and called police.
Police eventually tracked Johnson down at a hotel and placed him under arrest. He admitted to committing the robbery and told officers he’d made his plan after searching “How to rob a bank” on Google. He also said he planned to rob another bank because he’d already spent the money from the first robbery on his rent and utilities.
