A New Jersey State Trooper was arrested for giving new meaning to the term “speed dating.”
37-year-old trooper Marquice Prather is accused of pulling over female drivers for speeding — and then asking them out on dates. Officials say they began investigating his activities after several women reported his inappropriate conduct. Police say he would turn off his wireless microphone during traffic stops and then falsely report that it malfunctioned. He also falsified data to cover up the fact that he was only targeting female drivers between the ages of 20 and 35.
Prather was arrested and charged with tampering with records and information. He was also suspended without pay. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison
