Billy Elvis was born & raised in Detroit Michigan, but "escaped" after High School to embark on his radio career. His first stop was WONW 1280am Defiance Ohio January 2 1985, where his responsibilities included everything from being on air in any & all capacities to burning the trash. From there he moved on to Ft Wayne Indiana where he worked at "Hot Country" WBTU 93.3 before moving on to help launch the "Elvis & Hammer Show" on Rock Station 98.9 The Bear. After an extremely successful decade & a half run on The Bear, which included weekend sports anchor duties on ABC affiliate "21 Alive" WPTA-TV he moved to Phoenix Arizona & latched on to Classic Rock KSLX in the valley of the sun. But he was lured back to Fort Wayne & took over Program Director duties on Classic Rock 92.3 The Fort while also briefly reviving the "Elvis & Hammer Show" in the afternoon. He then moved on to fulfill a dream as a sports talk host on the "BS Sports Show" on ESPN 1380am & 106.7fm in Fort Wayne in 2012, while also briefly taking on sports anchor duties at NBC 33 Wise-TV. He was also co-host with pro golfer Scott Pieri for the "On The Green" golf show on ESPN Fort Wayne Saturday mornings 7a-8a & co-host of The BS Sports Show evenings on Yahoo Sports Radio Indiana.
Billy came to Lima in November 2015 where, in addition to his co-host role on the "Koza In The Morning" Show on Sports Radio 93.1 The Fan, he was also co-host of "THAT Morning Show” on sister station 104.9 The Eagle during the same 6a-9a hours to pull double duty weekdays during morning drive.
Currently, the “Billy Elvis Afternoon Show” is from 3p-7p on 104.9 The Eagle, which made it’s debut after launching the Bob & Tom Show in the morning on January 14th 2019. Billy is also the Program Director of the Eagle, but still hosts "Sports Talk with Billy Elvis” Saturday Mornings 10a-12n on Sports Radio 93.1 The Fan. And as an avid motorcycle enthusiast, Billy also hosts the show for motorcyclists “Knees In The Breeze” Sunday mornings 10a-11a on the Eagle during riding season May through October.
There's virtually nothing Billy hasn't done in radio...good & bad...and remains as busy as ever more than 3 decades into his long & illustrious broadcast career.
